Mechanical Engineer (Sterling, VA)
NIITEK has a great opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer. Are you an engineer with over 10 years of advanced electro/mechanical product design and Military Systems Development experience? We design and produce ground-penetrating radar for military and humanitarian applications. Our engineers and the people who support them are committed to developing the premier landmine detection system for robotic and vehicle-mounted platforms. This development of life-saving technology is a long-term opportunity. This position with the R&D team is based in Sterling VA, and supports production in Charlottesville, VA.
At NIITEK, you will be helping a noble company meet project milestones and deadlines by helping to establish formal engineering processes among other mission critical responsibilities. You will also design from military specifications and be responsible for:
Mechanism development and analysis
Development of basic power distribution systems
Structural and thermal analysis

Experience, Skills and Education:
The ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET DoD level clearance is REQUIRED to be considered for this position. Requires US Citizenship and you will be subject to a government security investigation.
10+ years experience on advanced electro/mechanical product design for manufacture
Hands-on experience taking mid-volume products from concept to production
Pro/Engineer; BOM/MRP knowledge
Basic electrical troubleshooting, fabrication, and machining skills
Practiced teaming and project management skills
Knowledge of production processes and standards
Military systems development required
